Over time, even a well-maintained spa accumulates unseen deposits of body oils, cosmetics, lotions, chemicals, dirt, oily grime, microorganisms, or other foreign matter inside the plumbing systems and heat exchanger. About biofilm...
Biofilm is a filmy build-up of generally organic waste, consisting of a complex association of micro organisms which adhere to hot tub surfaces, particularly inside the plumbing, where they can be very difficult to remove. Biofilm can contain bacteria, viruses, mold and parasites, as well as dirt and polysaccharides which add adhesion to a surface. It grows in the nicks and crannies within the plumbing systems and jets, forming a slippery film. This is also a particular problem with whirlpool baths.

Microorganisms inside the biofilm layer are somewhat protected from sanitizing agents such as chlorine, bromine, or algaecides. These micro organisms present a danger because if released into the water, a bather may be contaminated before sanitizers can kill them. It is important to remove biofilm and prevent it from reforming. Regular use of Spa System Flush will aid in the removal of films and deposits which form inside the plumbing and jets of your spa.

Scale buildup on your heater element can reduce heating efficiency and increase costs.  Just a small, "inconsequential" build-up of scale or bio-film on the element (about the thickness of a sheet of paper) can increase your heating costs by 10% or more! Directions for Use :

  1. Remove filters and adjust water level if necessary.
  2. Add 2 oz for every 100 gallons of Spa System Flush directly to old spa water.
  3. Run spa with jets on (high speed) using all jets and water features for at least 15 minutes an hour is ideal.
  4. Run spa on low or in circulation mode overnight if convenient.
  5. Drain spa and clean shell.  You can use a small amount of spa flush on a sponge for residue.
  6. Reinstall cleaned filters, refill and balance water.
