Sanitizing System

Most all bromine sanitizing system contain chlorine. Infact some "bromine" tablets are up to 60% chlorine. Enhance/Activate is a 2-part bromine sanitizing system for spas and is the only bromine sanitizing system that contains no chlorine. Once a week Enhance bromide salt solution is added to the water to create a bromide reserve. Activate oxidizer is then added to the spa water to release active bromine sanitizer into the water. An additional dose of Activate after each use will act as a non-chlorine shock destroying contaminants in the water and eliminating the need for a separate shock treatment to keep water clean and clear.

The Enhance/Activate System is a two-part system. By using Activate, Enhance liquid bromine salts are "activated" into bromine. Rather than monitoring a float or brominator as you do with a traditional bromine-based system, Enhance/Activate requires one simple application.
  • ENHANCE, a solution of premixed liquid bromide salts, releases bromine when the second component, Activate, is added.
  • ACTIVATE, a powerful oxidizer, "activates" Enhance into a bromine sanitizer. Enhance's sanitizing power kills and prevents bacteria growth.

Application:
When first filling spa:
Add 4 oz. of Enhance for every 250 gallons of water. Then, add 4 oz. of Activate for every 250 gallons of water.
For regular sanitizing:
After each use, add 2 oz. Activate for every 250 gallons of water. Once a week, 1 oz. of Enhance should be added for every 250 gallons of water.

Tips:
After using the spa, organic wastes such as body oils, perspiration, and lotions and bacteria can be in the water. By using Activate after each use, the bacteria and irritating wastes are eliminated in one simple step. Activate can also be used as a shock for spa water treated with chlorine, bromine or mineral purification. It is especially buffered and will not upset the balance of the water.

ENHANCE is a clear solution of Bromide salts which remain as a stable bank in the spa/hot tub water until ACTIVATE is added. ENHANCE has no disinfectant properties and it is only when ACTIVATE is added that bromine is released in water containing ENHANCE.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

ENHANCE should be added initially when the spa/hot tub is filled and weekly thereafter to maintain a bank of bromide in the water.

First, treat the water with PROTECT PLUS (same thing as Liesure Time Spa Defender) according to its label directions.Then add ENHANCE (4oz./250 gal.) directly into the spa/hot tub. Circulate the water while adding ENHANCE to assure rapid and through distribution. Weekly thereafter, add ENHANCE (1 oz./250 gal.) to maintain a sufficient bank of bromide on the water.

Test the bromine residual at least once a day with a bromine/pH test kit. The bromine residual must be between 1-3 ppm for residential spas/hot tubs and 3-5 ppm for commercial installations. Heavy usage, or the length of time the spa/hot tub is in use may result in the depletion of bromine and require additional dosages of ACTIVATE and/or ENHANCE to maintain the desired bromine residual. Never mix any chemicals with each other before adding to the spa/hot tub water. Change water monthly or as needed to maintain water quality.

CAUTION: Harmful if swallowed. Do not get in eyes. Avoid direct contact with skin.

STATEMENT OF PRACTICAL TREATMENT

FIRST AID: In case of contact, flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If eye irritation persists, get medical attention. Avoid contamination of food.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

Store in original container in a cool dry place. Do not reuse container. Rinse thoroughly and securely wrap original container in several layers of newspaper before discarding in trash.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

ACTIVATE should be added initially when the spa/hot tub is filled and daily as a shock treatment and as an activator for the production of available bromine in water containing ENHANCE. Initially treat the water with PROTECT PLUS (same thing as Liesure Time Spa Defender) and ENHANCE according to directions on the labels. Then add ACTIVATE (4 oz./250gal.) to shock the spa/hot tub water and to release available bromine in water containing ENHANCE.

Daily, thereafter when the spa/hot tub is shut off, add ACTIVATE (2 oz./250 gal.). Test the bromine residual with a bromine/pH test kit after the ACTIVATE has been added and allowed to circulate for 15 minutes. The residual must be maintained between 1-3 ppm for residential spas and 3-5 ppm for commercial installations.

Maintenance of pH, Bromine Residual and Water Quality

  1. Test of the water at least once daily with a bromine/pH test kit, and maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. Do not allow the pH to fall below 7.2. Since the pH of ACTIVATE is buffered in this range it will not adversely affect the pH of water.
  2. Test the bromine residual at least once a day bromine/pH test kit. The bromine residual must be between 1-3 ppm for residential spas and 3-5 ppm for commercial installations. If swallowed, feed bread soaked in milk followed by olive oil or cooking oil. Cal physician immediately. If on skin, brush off and flush with cold water for at least 15 minutes.If irritation persists get medical attention. If in eyes, flush with water for for at least15 minutes. Get medical attention.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

Do not contaminate water food or feed by storage or disposal. Keep product dry in tightly closed container when not in use. Store in original container in a cool dry well ventilated area away from heat or open flame. In case of decomposition, isolate container, if possible, and flood with large amounts of water to dissolve all material before discarding. Do not reuse container. Rinse thoroughly and securely wrap original container in several layers of newspaper before discarding in trash.

DANGER: Corrosive

Causes eye and skin damage. May be fatal if swallowed. Do not get into eyes, on skin or clothing. Irritating to nose and throat. Avoid breathing dust. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL HAZARDS
STRONG OXIDIZING AGENT:

Mix only with water, using clean, dry utensils. Do not add this product to any dispensing devices containing remnants of any other product. Such use, or contamination with moisture, organic matter, or other chemicals may cause a violent reaction leading to fire liberation of hazardous gases.

In case of contamination or decomposition, do not reseal container. If possible isolate container in open air, or well ventilated area. Flood with large amounts of water.
