IS THERE A DOWN SIDE TO USING THIS PRODUCT?

Yes there is. If you've been using chemicals in your spa they're built up inside your spa like barnacles on a ship. The Natural enzyme will slowly begin removing them. Bromine is the worst, it's there and it's highly corrosive to your pump and its seals. People think because their water is clear that the internal components are clean as well. Unfortunately this isn't the case. We recommend using The Natural Purge before starting with The Natural to get rid of this build up inside your pipes and pump. If The Natural product continues to find bromine in your pipes, it will begin to eliminate it. This may cause a clouding (a slight haze) to the water, usually 3-6 weeks down the road. Simply adding a clarifier will eliminate this. Spa clarifiers are made from nontoxic substances and we are not against using them.

If you are using The Natural in a brand new spa, we suggest cleaning the underside of the spa cover with soap and water to eliminate any contamination of the water through condensation. Such contamination may cause an unpleasant odor.

Bromine build-up is also a porous breeding ground for bacteria that has not been killed and is difficult for The Natural to penetrate (but, it will get rid of it eventually). If The Natural manages to release a significant amount of this matter, you may after 3-6 weeks get a 'pond smell' to your water. The "Natural Purge" is the perfect way to clean your spa before using "The Natural" product. The nontoxic "Natural Purge" enzyme formula dissolves away chemical deposits hidden deep inside your spa that cause irritating rashes and itching.

Some hot tub dealers or tub service companies like to use wax when servicing your spa. This is not recommended because The "Natural Purge" product and "The Natural" will remove the wax. This results in little "floaties" in the water. This is harmless (it's just wax) and can easily be removed by using a clarifier. Waxing the tub is usually done to protect the acrylic from chemicals.
