Cindy, do you have the hot tub hooked to 40, 50 or 60 amps? If you hooked the spa to the minimum required amps your heater will not turn on while your pumps run. I would also recommend keeping the spa at the tempurature you would like to use it at. Letting it cool and reheat will be more expensive for any tub. That is a very large tub and your going to expect that type of delay for any hot tub. Also it sounds like the dealer was more of a pain then Elite...having been in the industry for awhile and now just working on selling chemicals and helping people with there hot tub needs I have found the Elite product to be a good product and if given the proper instructions I think you should be very happy with it.
