2001...hot tub arrived and would not work...spent 7 hours trying to problem solve...on phone with tech from PDC shop...clueless...thought it was probably related to the "high/low" switch, would not, or could not, dispatch a technician to assist getting the new hot tub working. I dismantled the switch as advised by befuddled PDC tech guy...drove 45 minutes to a pool/spa supply house, bought a new switch...installed it...no luck. I finally diagnosed the problem myself...factory switch setting was incorrectly set. One adjustment and the pumps fired up. Sweet. I had a bad feeling though that no one at PDC knew much about spas. Over 5 hours of my afternoon and evening consumed, including an hour and a half driving for a part that I did not need, nor for which was I reimbursed by PDC, but the tub was working. Within weeks the fittings on the jets started dropping off one by one...by the end of the first year, not a single fitting remained on. As tub is outside, in heavy Florida rainy season, the pumps shorted out and took days to dry sufficiently to work. PDC, by the way, never lifted a finger to assist in fixing the jet fittings, the "high/low" switch, and their solution to the drowning of their pumps was FOR ME to line the box (which they designed as a step/pump cover) with plastic to divert the rain away from the pumps...did it...but pumps still shorted out in heavy rain. I'll end with this: my previous tub lasted 10 years and had one thermostat problem which was immediately replaced by the manufacturer. I sold that tub when we moved 10 years later. This PDC hot tub has been an utter disappointment...pumps that burnt out and had to be replaced, design issues out the wazoo (step/pump cover; filter housing ring that fits so imperfectly that just cleaning or changing the filter can take an hour, literally to accomplish because the filter and filter assembly do not easily seat properly.) DO NOT expect quality, in design or company support. NOT ONE TIME did I ever have anyone from PDC SPAS contact me to assist in solving the issues that I alerted them to...until I finally gave in and stopped trying to get help from them. Complete failure as a hot tub company. I expect they are out of business now.
