Re: Gulf Coast Spas
In Response To: Gulf Coast Spas ()

I bought a Gulf Coast Spas hot tub in 2004 and it was rendered not repairable by their warranty company Spa services. It was very problematic. When it was a little over a year old the pump seal went bad. They sell you the parts pro rated and YOU have to do the repair unless you pay for it.The only thing that was wrong was a seal, but I had to send them the electric 5 hp pump motor AND pump body back together. They unbolt from each other but they said they come as a unit.I forget what it costed but it was expensive. Then at about 2 years my jets started falling out into the tub area.At first I thought it was a bad jet. After about 3 years my jets where almost compeletely missing. They are not covered by warranty. They said it was because I did not clean them and Gulf Coast also said it would be approx $500.00 to replace them. Then my top control panel went bad.I forget the cost, approx 100 dollars. After noticing my panels not coming off when I serviced the tub,I came to realize that the whole unit was sagging in on itself.Spa services said I had to pay for someone to look at it to see if it was a pro rated warranty claim. After arguing with who would pay for someone to come and look at it ,Spa Services sent somebody out.The person sent deemed it not repairable.Spa Services offered me a replacement spa that was not even comperable. They pro rate everything and tried to make me pay 3600 dollars for a new one.I could buy the one they offered for 4100 dollars brand new! This was a 40 percent pro rating and they still wanted me to pay to have my old one shipped back to them! They are such a rip off company thatI cannot begin to describe evertyhing and all my dealings with them over this. All I can tell you is I would not recommend them to anyone. And all the things you will read about how bad they are,I have experienced many of them.Get yourself a Spa that you can enjoy, not one from this company.I did go to the Florida better business bureau and filed a claim. They did help, but Spa Services makes up the inflated, unrealistic by market, retail prices and prorates the spa from that. The spas is a $8800 unit and then they pro rate from that number after they cut it by 25 percent. On several sites on the internet you could buy the same tub for more than 50 percent off their unrealistic retail price. So in the end, my junk tub from Gulf Coast Spas did not last past 4 years and they will not lose much if any money selling me a new one. They do not offer monetary consideration so I would have to buy another hot tub from a joker company.Dont think so.I cut my losses and it sits in my back yard ,sagged in and unusable.
