Hot Tub and Spa

In Response To: Calspas ()

We can not say too many great things about Calspas - when we bought our current house the hot tub was on the deck - covered in a saggy tarp and full of muddy water and mosquito larvae. After some elbow grease and filling it with water it ran fine and looked great. It has yet to completely breakdown - recently we moved the spa to replace the pool decking, and I was sure this would be the end, bit no. Replaced the spa and it is running just fine - well a little leak from the motor which may be the end for it after 15 years!!
We may be a little "cheap" having replaced a wet end on one of the motors and cutting out and replacing the filter basket - but this spa is proving to be the little engine that could!! We have had 6 years use from this spa - when most people would have given up on it and maybe spent $500 on parts and 2 new covers. Covers never last from anyone, no matter what they tell you!!
I think that Calspas have received unfair press - certainly where we live the dealerships went out of buisness so the follow up care may not have been great. However, we were able to get info directly from Calspas and the local pool/spa supply store.
It may not be everyones "cup of tea" to fix the spa but I feel that this is a much maligned brand - it is always easy to write a negative review. SO I will stand up for my little spa that does
