In Response To: Gulf Coast Spas ()

I have owned this spa for 2 weeks and have had to test the warranty and service to the max. Spa pack did not work upon installation (done myself). Was on the phone with Florida 4 days straight. They were very helpful...to the extent possible and called me back quickly (I am in Canada...no 800 number). The tech guys on the phone can really only give you the same info you can get from the troubleshooting section of the web-page. Eventually, I convinved them that I had tried everything 10 times and they allowed me to contact a technician....2 hours away in Ottawa. He was excellent and made it to my home after a couple of days to replace the spa pack.

Everything is working wonderfully now. It is a powerful, 2 motor system. Lots of room. I am wary of the hype around the aqua clara system and doubt that it will be as magical as I had hoped. It is also pretty expensive. The insulation in this tub is really poor compared to other Canadian made brands but I will insulate myself with styrofoam inside the cabinet.

Waterfall not needed. Overall, so far so great....especially for the price which is 2000 less that the comparable locally. Beware of the need to do many things yourself. Also, you pay both taxes and the GFI was not included (230.00).

The main question to ask in buying Gulf Coast is how much you value the warranty. buying locally with a technician from town could have major advantages. I will only know two years from now how good a deal I got.
