LX5000-2006
In Response To: Gulf Coast Spas ()

We bought this spa in March of 2007. Within 6 months, the acrylic started to spiderweb. We told the company and they sent us $850 to cover the problem. Then it started to leak and the gaskets around the jets, airators and light started to decompose and leak. Upon consulting with the company, they sent a tech out to replace the gaskets and jets. The tech informed us, and put it in writting, that all the holes in the spa shell were too big and that it would continue to leak forever and not allow the gaskets to seat properly as there was not enough flange material to form a good seal. The holes were cut too big for the gaskets to seal. This event started in November of 2007. When contacted about the problem, they agreed to give us a new spa if we paid shipping, over $1000. When we refused the offer, they said they would replace it if we returned the $850, but we would have to hire someone to remove and replace the tub at our cost, $500. Again we refused stating that what we received was an unmerchantible product. These tubs are not manufactured to the industrial standard, ISO9000, that they advertise. They are not appliance quality either. If they followed the standard, our problem would never have occurred. An inferior product was let out of the factory and sold as top quality. We counter-offered to accept a new spa but only return $500 so as to cover part of the remove/replace cost. I would NEVER nor RECOMMEND this product to anyone. The reason being that they will not back up their own product when the defect is the direct result of their manufacturing/inspection process. It is now January 2009 and we have not had use of our spa in 14 months. It is still on the property in pieces and cannot even be filled and used with the leaks. So now we have their product with a SRP of $7200 (there price) that is only good to use as a planter and are left to persue legal avenues or accept their lame offer. They have no regard for the customer who ultimitly supports their business. So far we are out thousands of dollars, have not had use of the spa for over a year, and must pursue other avenues to obtain satisfaction. Just to let you readers know, we are both college educated and work or have worked in the defense industry. We know what their manufacturing specification states and how it is used in the production of product. Please do not support a business that does not stand by their product when the problems are inherent in what they deliver.
