My wife and I decided to purchase a spa this year, since we were already replacing our pool, this spa was reasonably priced and had enough features for us. I have not had any issues with it since it's installation in May of this year, and have been able to get the water temp. up to 103 degrees (a bit too hot). The spa goes through cycles in order to maintain the set temperature, and does eventually shut the jets off (i just leave the jets on the lowest settings with the dials on the control panel). I was against getting a spa at first, but once I got in for the first time I was hooked, I very happy that my wife convinced me into making the purchase.
