We bought a hot tub in the first place for the hydrotherapy benefits (there are days when walking up the stairs can be a challenge for me). After months of research, dry and wet runs, we couldn't be happier! We built a screened porch to house the tub (we got the smaller 7' version) and it's been up and running now for two months. We also discovered that it's a great way to keep a teenage daughter and a couple of her friends at home more often. This one, with count them 65 jets, has the power and the magic to sooth. (I am NOT a salesperson.) The volcano jet is THE single best feature - your feet will thank you over and over again. A hot tub without one I will NEVER own. The lounger and two incredibly deep corner seats with different configurations of back and molded neck jets give one heck of a massage if you spend 10 minutes or so in each position. (I used to pay $100 a week at a spa for this kind of therapy.) The 3 other midposition seats are nice, but nothing special, and only the teens are comfortable with more than 3 in the tub at a time.. (too many legs).
It has 3 motors, a number of selections on the control panel and deflector knobs, allowing you to set the power from a low, peacful, trickle on the water fountain and some "stream" effect movement, to full blown "white water river action" power directed right at you :) Calspas offers more bang for your buck but make sure you buy from a solid, reputable dealer that offers service. Even our new baby will need service eventually. We love the wow factor this tub offers in terms of jets, but left off the electronics (tv/stereo) and are glad we did. We would get the 8' next time if we either planned to entertain more, or had much more room, but we're happy with this one. We also love the old style lift we got for the cover. It's effortless to use. So far, the water remains crytal clear with very little effort and we are pleased Pacifica owners.
