Kodiak LegendSE / 2004
In Response To: Arctic Spas ()

We bought our Artic spa in June 2004 from Paradise Bay Hot Tubs & Billiards Superstore in Calgary Alberta. The spa is Kodiak LegendSE with 61 jets and 21 air with 3 pumps and an ozone system, micropure water filtration and a forever floor.
The spas jets and the forever floor are the only thing that lives up to our expectations.
We had eliminated what spa we would get to two spas, Beachcomber and Artic spa. We were concerned about energy use and water quality and of course service. We were sweet talked (foolish us) by the sales people at Paradise spas for energy use and how good the water would be cleaned. The forever floor made us decide on the Artic spa over Beachcomber. I should have gone with service and expertise.
We had problems getting our spa, the sales person kept saying it was coming but it was a production problem, nothing he could go about it. When we bought the spa the other thing we wanted was quick delivery which was also promised by Paradise spas, that the spas were on site. We waited a week between askings, always requesting a specific date of shipment. We would be told it was coming the following week. After three times of getting this run around, I emailed Artic Spa, and they promptly replied that the order was scheduled to be made August 11 2004. After some discussion with the distributor, the solution was to find us someone elses spa.
Artic spa removed its email address from the internet as its solution.
The jets on the tube are alright. The spa is not deep enough to cover your shoulders when sitting in the spa. The solutions and the filters supplied from Paradise spas are inadaquate. We were changing filters every 2 weeks while using the spa every day. The system sold to us was a throw away filter and just spa shock. The knowledge base of the personnel was unable to help us.
The plumbing from the theraputic pump to the jets was hard plastic to the metal pump. This keeps coming apart when the jets are turned on. This problem has not been cleared up yet. This feature is something that we probably didn't need.
I gave up on Paradise spas sales and service persons.
I don't know how the Beachcomber spas work but I know what the service is like because I am now working with them. They are always willing to help solve a problem with the spa and its not even their spa. Now that I look back on how things went, the deep Beachcomber spa and the positioning of the Beachcomber jets is what I really wanted. I don't know enough about water filtration to know the best way to keep the water clean but the people at Beachcomber seem more knowledgeable.
This is just my opinion and my description of what happened. I love spas and still do but I have been tainted by my experience.
