We've had our spa for about a year now. We've been very happy and have had no problems whatsoever, except a jet blew out when we first fired it up. The dealer gave us a new one no questions asked.
The upgrade to the SE was worth the $300 charge. With the SE, we got 3 pumps instead of 2, an X-pattern seat, a second foot jet, and waterfall. I could take or leave the waterfall, but having 3 pumps of power is great! And the x-pattern seat is our favorite. It puts you right in front of the foot jets! They feel sooooo good. The corner seat with all the jets is also very nice, and gives you a different massage then the x-seat.
My husband thought he would love the neck & shoulder seat best. He does like it, but it's not his favorite. I don't fit in it so good. I'm 5'4" and I'm a little short for it. We both enjoy the lounger and floating out isn't a problem. However I will say that when I'm forced to wear a swimsuit, I do float out more. Something about having that skin right on the surface helps!
We got a black granite Microban shell and think it looks way sharp. We also got the 22-LED light and think it looks cool at night. I've read comments that lighter shells show light better at night. Maybe because I've never seen a lighter shell at night, but we have no complaints with our dark shell!
My only complaint.....I wish the filter housing were in a middle seat and not in a corner, only because the corner seats are comfy. The seats are of varying heights and are plenty deep enough.
It's a thermopane spa, and I won't even comment on the TP/full foam debate. We're happy and that's all that matters. In Michigan, during the coldest of January, our electric bill was about $42 more than normal. In summer, it's about $22 more.
The Eco-Pur filter is only available at Master Spa dealers. A tad inconvenient, and Master won't make them available online because I've already asked. But I'll just buy 2 at a time. They're $40 each at my dealer.
I would definitely consider another Down East spa. A quality tub without the fancy bells and whistles. Just nice, powerful therapy! We paid $5200 + tax, and got a cover lifter, LED light, steps, starter chems, extended warranty and of course delivery. We just didn't have an $8,000 - $10,000 budget. This spa made ownership within our financial reach.
