In Response To: Arctic Spas ()

VERY bad experience with Arctic Spa.

The local dealer was good; always prompt and responsive to all the smallish problems throughout the warranty period.

Literally, 3 months after going off the warranty the "motherboard" burns out.

I called my local dealer and explained what the tub was doing i.e. not heating up. He had me pull out a fuse and bring it in to swap out. When that didn't work he asked me to open up the Control Box and look for burn residue in a corner. Of course it was there. Essentially a $500 motherboard burned out to protect a $2 fuse.

My local dealer says that this was a common problem with Arctic Spas and represented a "design flaw" in the Motherboards. He suggested I write to Arctic Spas to explain the problem and to see if they would help because the spa was just three months off of warranty.

Needless to say they were less than helpful. They were actually rude at the suggestion that they consider rectifying this "design flaw".

I will never buy an Arctic spa again.
