Bought the first tub in 2001. The dealer came after a nice sales pitch and lots of promises and getting paid in full. He dropped it off and said “there ya go”. We had to put it in place. Followed the directions to the letter upon filling. It didn’t work as it had a high pressure lock and leaked. He refused to come out and said do this and this and that will fix it. 30 minute’s later I was soaked but it was working. 4 months later the first motor went bad. The dealer sent another man to repair it. It worked two months and the power unit went out and the motor again. This was Jan. in Iowa. It took two weeks to get a service man here and in trying to get it to work he caught the tub on fire. He did get it working but the outside was melted. He said well get some gray paint. Contacted Islander many times and nothing, no one ever got back to us. So I had to get a lawyer. They sent a new dealer who looked at the mess and got me a new tub. Same day it kicked the GFI. Finally it worked for a year. Then it began to kick the GFI every few minutes. I finally got the dealer in Des Moines after several calls to CA. He wanted $400.00 to drive the 100 miles & $75.00 per hour to repair it. I went back to the dealer who replaced the tub. He said the heater had gone bad and it was a 15 minute job to replace it but he was busy for a month. He sent a new heater coil. 3 hours later it was installed and my hands cut to pieces. My opinion of Islander is that the service is horrible and the product a disaster waiting to be bought.
