In Response To: Columbia Spas ()

I am 58 years old and always wanted a personal spa. I have had this spa for about three years and really enjoy the way it makes me feel. I had one small problem with the plastic cover over the controls, it started pealing off. The manufacturer sent me about a half dozen for replacements. The biggest problem is the drainage, I am sorry to say that it is a very poor design. The floor drain is located on the side instead of the bottom, so it will leave 6" to 8" of water after draining. All the catch areas like the seats and places that are divided from the drain area have to be bailed out. If they would have put in channels from these places leading to the drain area and installed the drain on the floors lowest place, it would be perfect. I finally bought a portable pump to drain the spa and use a hose to wash out the catch areas. Another little qurk is if you have the spa set for constant circulation, the motor alone will heat the spa to max (109 degrees)I had to keep adding cold water until I called a tech and he explained it to me and said to set it on mimimum. Actually, it circulates every time the heater comes on anyway. One last thing, the motor is noisey, it vibrates the wood making it rattle. The tech said to add a cushion under it the next time it's drained. Besides all that, I enjoy it very much!
