2007 spa in a box
In Response To: Comfortline Spas ()

I purchased the Spa in a box in March of 2007. I didn't put it together for a couple of months. We live at 7000ft elevation, and it doesn't start to get warm until mid May. Within a month pieces of the foil on the inside of the soft cover began falling off. In another month or so there was a 6 sqft section gone with more coming loose every day. In July a section of the air jet manifold started coming loose. When the air jet was turned on it would air right into the water circulation/heating pump intake. When this happened the pump could not pump any water causing the heater to over heat itself and turn off. I called the manufacturer direct, Comfort Line Products in Florida. They said to replace the parts, I would have to pay $50 shipping and handling for each piece. I don't think I should have to pay $100 to get this junk replaced. Since then the water all leaked out of the tub. I thought it was related to the air jets, but it turned out to be a 4 inch section of the lining just came apart where it was glued together. It looks like the adhesives used to put it all together were defective, or it was assembled incorrectly. Either way is not good. I talked to the people I bought from, and they thought it didn't sound right to charge so much for warranty parts, and that they would talk to the manufacturer. When they finally got back to me it was like they forgot that they ever thought it was a lot of money for shipping and handling. They repeated to me what the people at Comfortline hat told me like it was a fine way to handle a warranty claim. I would not buy from either of these people again. I will probably repair it myself when I find the proper adhesive. Again, don't buy from them.
