I bought my Softub 220 a month ago; brand new, full price, the whole deal. I haven't had it long enough to know if there will be problems, but I love the thing.
You see, I'm old and I'm little. My normal body temp and BP are sub-normal and I ache; I'm always cold when those around me are perfectly comfortable. These days, when I'm cold at work, it doesn't have the damaging emotional impact, because I know I can get warm as soon as I get home to my Rubber Tubby. And get this -- I'm an inch taller! I hadn't shrunk so much as contracted to conserve core heat. I use it in the evening, before bed. I tend to bliss out, so using it before work isn't an option. I note the time is 5:30 when I get in, and then just a few minutes later it's 7:45!
I wanted something that one little old woman could handle alone, and I got it. I rolled it into position, placed the pump beside it, hooked it together, filled it with the hose, plugged it in and turned it on. Initial set-up took me less than an hour. It is sheer luxury for 1, and plenty of room for 2. I'm learning to get my pH balance right, and the directions for installation, set-up and maintenance are clear.
I wanted no hard edges (like those horrid, useless lounges in acrylic tubs)and absolute freedom to float. I leave it set at 102, then turn it down to 100 when I get in so that I can float without bubbles, though it has 5 fine jets that I use now and again. The Softub 220 is joyful thing to have, and if I had it to do over, this is the brand and model I'd choose.
