In Response To: Hydro Spas (-)

Like everyone else it looked like a good deal and in our small land locked town in Alaska the only alternative was $2000 to $3000 more. We have had it up and running for about 2 weeks. We built a $6000+ deck, awning and privacy fence just for it. Our bigest complaint is the lack of control on the tempreture and the heater/filter cycles. Needless to say it is cold in Alaska. The control will not let you set it above 104F. If you run the pumps and blower after about 10 minutes the temp. drops to about 102 or less. It is just not adequate for northern climates they should keep it down in Florida. Also, to keep the heater operating the tub must be kept on the "Standard" mode setting if you want to have any hope at all of keeping the temp at 104. If you change the mode it will let the temp drop to 98 or maybe even less, I was afraid to find out. Anyway on "Standard" the two main pumps go on and off every so often and circulate the water at different times day and night. We have a bubble wrap vapor barrior which we place on the water surface before closing the cover in a vain attempt to keep as much heat as possible in. Well needless to say when the jets turn on automatically in the night two things happen, first I sit straight up in bed from the noise outside on the deck, and then I know all the time that the barior is in a big ball infront of the filters somewhere. I can not believe it can not just keep the heater going and keep the other stuff off. The cover lift that came with it is useless. First it is stratigically placed to cut off your toes as you open it. And, if you do get it open, it is almost impossible to get it closed. Oh and don't try to close it with wet hands,(after all who would have wet hands getting out of a hot tub? go figure) you'll stick to the metal handle in this climate. I have to say though I did get a manual on it from Costco and it was the floor model so no problem there, basic as it was. If I had it to do all over again I never would have purchase this spa. Not enough control for the user, bottom line, I would bring it back tomorrow if they would take it! PS. Hot tub for sale you haul.
