HotSpring hot spot

A few weeks ago we decided on a HotSpring Grandee. Had wet-tested it and several other HotSpring models as well as other brands. We are now in the process now of researching and preparing to build a ground level deck (approx. 16x22 or so) with composite decking for delivery/installation in mid/late October. One curious thing - on the Grandee, Landmark and others, the area in the bottom of the tub where the air/ozone bubbles come out is very hot (according to the owner's manual this is the "heater return and spa drain"). Is it normal for this area to be noticeably "hot" and is there any way to defeat it? It really is not a major issue, but I am curious about it. Thanks!
