Question for any service provider. When a repair needs to be made on a pump, lets say the seal was leaking forever, and rotted out the motor shaft and front motor bearing, how do you guys aproach it. meaning, do you install a new motor, replace the pump seal, and call it good, or do you install an entire new pump assy. Now lets say that the motor is good, but the impeller is broken, and the seal is leaking. Do you go the entire wet-end route, or install new impeller and seal.
Personaly, I replace only the bad parts, but do give the customer the option of the whole pump/wet-end.
I am interested because I have a buddy who , if a pump seal is leaking, automatic wet-end. Also, if the motor is bad, automatic pump assembly.
I cant see the reasoning behind this thinking, But figured with all folks here who are much brighter than myself, my foggy mind could be cleared up easily.
So what do you guys think?
