bromine allergy or hot tub rash?

I have had my tub now for 6 months and love it. I have problems with back pain and it has really helped. About 2 months ago i started breaking out with a rash. Not all over but just a few spots. We drained the tub and cleaned it well with diluted bleach. I use a bromine floater and shock once a week. Finally got the ph and alk in proper range. Couldn't ignore the itching and rash any longer and saw a doctor. He prescribed anti-fungal oinment and a steroid cream. That was almost 2 weeks ago and it's no better. The tub definetly makes it worse. My husband hasn't had any problems but he doesn't go in as much as I do. I'm now in the position of having to choose between back pain if i stay out of the tub or making the rash worse if i go in. Sorry to be rambling on, but it's depressing to have finally found something that gives me relief only to not be able to use it. Wondering if anyone has had this reaction to bromine or does it sound like bugs in the tub? The water is clear and looks ok. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
