Vinegar to lower PH-how much?

Just got my new Vanguard and we all love it. The kids are in and out, using it as a pool, and I'm proud to say that so far, I been able to keep up with the water chemistry/scum/etc. I am waiting for my Taylor kit to arrive, so have been using the strips to test. All the colors look good except the PH. (8.0 or higher) I don't know why as it is 7.7 out of my hose) My alk tested 184--both tested from a sample I brought to the dealer so I knew what I was starting with. I have heard about using vinegar. How much for a 400 gallon tub? Should I just wait for my test kit to arrive and then decide what is really off? If anyone has tried the vineger, I would love to know the dosing, just in csse this becomes an issue for me. Thanks!
