Re: Which is better 110v or 220v
In Response To: Which is better 110v or 220v ()

The cost of operating a 110v spa vs. a 220v spa are exactly the same. The big difference between the two are a 110 spa will usually heat at 1 to 2 degrees an hour where as 220 heats anywhere from 6 to 9 degrees an hour. Another difference is 15 or 20 amps (110v spa) is not enough amperage to run a 1.5 KW heater AND a jet pump on high speed, jet operating speed, so affter 10 minutes of spa use, you will probably notice a temperature drop to the point where you need to cut the jet pump to low speed and let the heater turn back on. Beyond thatit costs the same to operate a 110 spa as it does a 220 spa, it just takes the one longer to accomplish the same temperature goal.

: We're in the early stages of buying a spa and were wondering if 220v
: would be better than 110v. What is the difference? Would it be more
: cost efficient to go 110v?
