Re: Picture Added
In Response To: Re: Picture Added ()

Is this "Magic Mender" an acceptable piece to make this connection between filter housing and PVC? I assume it fits the I.D. of both the elbow at the housing and the pvc leading to the heater?

The piece of PVC that threads directly onto the heater...does this have to be a "special" piece designed especially for this?

(and no, no chance of a fire)

Thanks for your help!

: I cannot tell for sure from the picture, but it looks like slip sockets
: on the filter housing rather than FIPT threads. If so, you will
: either have to replace the filter housing as part of the repair, use
: a ram-bit to remove the remaining pipe within the filter housing or
: use an inside-inside "magic mender" to reconnect the
: plumbing. Your picture does not show enough of the damage for me to
: determine what else you need. Frankly, this sounds as if this should
: have been an easy repair (pressure switch), but you've inadvertently
: caused big problems here by melting some plumbing. You are lucky you
: did not start a fire.
