Have you had the voltages checked at the ckt board for load/voltage drop ? That would also account for blown boards. I'd be checking that too as boards don't blow out that often unless something else is helping them along.
That doesn't help you with the dealer or manufacturer but be aware that most warranty coverage is just for the period of the warranty. Parts are not covered as a warranty item outside the warranty period. VCR's included (I have a story like yours about one of those)
