Re: Water particles
In Response To: Re: Water particles ()

you may be on to something there....I will bet it is leftover swirlaway in the pipes...but on the other hand, I have noticed that generally the next day, the chlorine has been used up that I put in....I have given it a couple of heavy dosage chlorine shocks rather than the MPS just in case it was a sanitation problem....

It is -13 outside at the moment...I checked the spa a couple of hours ago and it's chugging away filtering...I filter about 9 hours a day...it's a Catalina and you have to do it that much with this brand or the water looks lousy...especially with well water to begin with...

So..I go in all the time...if it were a sanitation problem, wouldn't I also have a problem? I generally throw in about a tablespoon of chlorine about a half hour before I get in...and then another when I leave...sometimes the next day, some's left, other times it's used up...I have not had a skin problem or anything with this water...????

The last time I did the dychlor shock, the next day, I still had what amounted to about 30million ppm according to the Taylor test tube...the color was so yellow it was almost a deep gold...so it's probably the swirlaway residue...those filters were really gunked up when I cleaned them this week...I was opening each tine and scraping the gunk out...

I have a 550 gallon tank...have muriatic acid too...what's a good mixture I should use for the test. I will pull out about 8 ounces of water from the spa to test it...and if it turns clear...then I know what ...that it's mineral? And then what? More Metal Out...

I'm leaving for Arizona Tuesday morning if the planes can fly in this cold....maybe I will shock with dychlor tomorrow and then shock it again with MPS in the evening...my neighbor will feed it dychlor every other day...I will tell her to put in about a full tablespoon, I think...so it stays high all week long that I am gone...

thanks...
