It was my understanding that the Model 471 had two, two-speed pumps. If yours is so equipped, you should be able to select high or low speed for whichever pump feeds the jet in question.

As far as adding resistance to the sensors goes, it depends on whether you have a Balboa controller or a Gecko controller. The Balboa's can be fooled. Not all Gecko packs can be fooled. I believe your tub has a Balboa controller.
