Ask 'Dr. Spa' Q & A Message Board

John, I owe you one...

Well, the fella from Kiefers called me back this morning...said they can get me the new pump and motor for between $400 and $500...suggested that I just buy the motor as it would be less...(Kiefer is the big swim outfit that has a retail spa store in Waukegan IL...)...at that point, I began to look for a motor repair fella...found one in town here, says he's been doing motors like mine for years...should not be a problem, explained the whole process to me....says $129 should do the job unless there is some major rust that needs to be taken off and parts replaced...he won't know till he sees it, of course, then it may add a few bucks to the cost but it's doable so far as he is told now.

George will be here at 7 am...(his favorite time of the day, not mine...) and by 8, we both will be at the shop in town with the motor, which will be back and ready by early afternoon...and he will put it in...His grandparents have a summer home about 5 miles from mine, right around the corner from the motor shop...so he'll double back when it's finished, get it and return to put it in. In the meantime, I can check out that bottom pipe and get that issue resolved...maybe if it's flaked, I can put a vacuume inside it? Sounds like a plan, eh?

Seems reasonable if I am going to get a rebuilt motor from someone on the net that may or may not be a piece of junk, I might as well use my own for as long as it lasts...

This motor repair guy says humidity is the cause of the problem...so maybe I have to start leaving my gazebo windows wide open rather than just cracked...(decisions, decisions, decisions, why is nothing ever easy!!!)

Let us all say one to the big guy upstairs that this can all work out (and I am not referring to Dr. Spa...)(ask him to stop the world strife situation too while you guys are all speaking with him....first before my problem, actually on that one...I know my place in line when it comes to problems versus irritations)
