So where do I go from here...???? Who do you trust in this business as a consumer? Can you direct me to a genuine distributor who will treat me honestly?

Well, John, you may have hit the nail on the head with your response, I asked them a bunch of questions before I went out for dinner this evening and came home to this email: (I am copy/pasting it...) I had more questions after I read it...but I think you may have answered them...and that is why it is about $60 cheaper than the cheapest I found before I saw their site...
Their response to my questions about who makes the motors on their units for $181:

"A.O. Smith makes motors. This is a Waterway replacement unit. Our Spa Pumps are replacement units, which consists of an entirely new pump. The motor manufacturer does recycle the motor cores for use in the manufacturing process.The Pump & Motor both have a 2 year Warranty. Shipping is $15 & usually leaves the warehouse in 2-3 business days. Seal is included in the price.
