Thanks to RK1967-you responded that it was the "contactor" in the Connecticut Electric box-unfortunately, I didn't read RK's reply that Connecticut electric put out a bad batch containing defective contactors-not having read the reply, I called the electrical contractor who tested the equipment and found that in fact the contactor was defective; he replaced it and now it works fine-home depot agreed to give me a new box free.Any folks out there with Connecticut equipment beware. The contractor said the problem was "not" caused by a power. thanks again to RK1967
