Re: ppm stabalizer

Ron,

I made it a point to say SPA ozone because it truely is voodoo science, I will also say that personal swimming pool ozone is probably the same. Everything you mentioned probably does work great but there is a health risk associated with ozone that a lot of people seem to forget about.

Putting ozone into the air to oxidize contaminents will work but don't enter the room without an approved respirator. An olympic pool's ozonator may be vastly different than a home spa. Drinking water is sanitized via ozone and it works great.

The only things that I found for ozone when I was researching was for water disinfection. They use 100% O2 (air is 21%), dry it (air has humidity, sometimes a lot), cool it (just found this out via Doc here)and use 1,000's of volts with reverse flow while monitoring ozone absorbtion ... our spas don't have anything like that. The other this is that spa water at 102º has an ozone life of 20 seconds and according to Vermonter I think a few seconds at 120º (heater kicks on).

My thinking on spa ozone is that if it bumps into something it'll work but the likely hood of it bumping into anything after it leaves the venturi is slim.

: However...within my tub...as I mentioned in the previous post....you are
: correct...it is no more than "redundancy" a helping
: hand...in that the design of it's induction is inadequate.....The
: ozone enters the tub via 3 small jets within the foot well, and then
: quickly bubbles up to the surface, with little time to properly treat
: the water mass. If it was entering through the 2 main pump lines,
: just before the pump,..hence sending it through the main jet plumbing
: and then into the shell via multiple jets...it would be much more
: efficient. However this may create a new design issue...not sure....
: When the main 2 pumps are off..all would be fine...however when the
: main 2 pumps are running it would put a "suction" on the
: mini circ system...which might stress the circ pump....not sure.....

: Your comments on this would be interesting...thanks

: Don't put too much stock into ozone ... it is oversold and overused by
