Re: ppm stabalizer
In Response To: Re: ppm stabalizer ()

:Gotta disagree with you, about your thoughts on ozone. Ozone quickly decomposes organic matter. It is used in fire restoration to eliminate smoke odors in homes, fabrics, garments and the like. It is used in the auto industry to remove smoke odors from autos. It is used in homes to sanitize the air (electronic air cleaners.) It is used in large trash compactors to eliminate odors caused by rotting and decay. It is used in olympic training swimming pools, sole source, sanitizer, as a measure to minimize the exposure of chlorine to the athletes due to their many hours of pool time. It is used in commercial laundry washers, especially hospitals...in that it sanitizes, with redundancy, as well as minimizes and eliminates the need for certain washing chemistry, inclusive of bleaches, including chlorine.

However...within my tub...as I mentioned in the previous post....you are correct...it is no more than "redundancy" a helping hand...in that the design of it's induction is inadequate.....The ozone enters the tub via 3 small jets within the foot well, and then quickly bubbles up to the surface, with little time to properly treat the water mass. If it was entering through the 2 main pump lines, just before the pump,..hence sending it through the main jet plumbing and then into the shell via multiple jets...it would be much more efficient. However this may create a new design issue...not sure.... When the main 2 pumps are off..all would be fine...however when the main 2 pumps are running it would put a "suction" on the mini circ system...which might stress the circ pump....not sure.....

Your comments on this would be interesting...thanks

Don't put too much stock into ozone ... it is oversold and overused by
: many based on what is sold to them. There is no scientific evidence
: that spa ozone does anything; it may do something but there is no
: proof. This has been debated over and over. As you can probably tell,
: I'm on the negative side of ozone.

: As far as sanitizing your tub. After getting out you need to run all the
: pumps and jets to get the chlorine into all the plumbing. Some people
: just put in chlorine and even shut off sections of their tubs and
: stuff grows in the tub.
