Re: older jacuzzi laser model?
In Response To: Re: older jacuzzi laser model? ()

: Horizon Pool and Spa Parts has the replacement board still available for
: reasonable cost. The Horizon part number is 59-460-1189. The only
: topside still available for use with that board is the BL-S-50 which
: has a 50 foot cable, so you'd have to roll up a lot of extra cable.
: You may have to cut some additional fiberglass as well because it
: appears to be wider than the original topside. The part number for
: the BL-S-50 is 58-460-1050. You may or may not need the 8-pin to
: 9-pin adapter. If you do, it is part number 59-460-1640. Temp sensors
: are available as well. These are very robust controls, certainly much
: more robust that Gecko S-Spa controls or the Balboa VS series of
: controls. If you wire the tub for 240 volts, I do recommend that you
: power the heater from an off-board contactor and simply use the
: board's heat relay to trigger the coil of the off-board contactor.
: That was a Jacuzzi recommended alteration for all 240 volt Laser's
: back in the day.

i just checked prices for both ( thanks for the info and numbers), however what i got is a cheap tub (300.00) and by buying these two items i have tripled the value of an outdated tub.. while that might be the best way long term, contol circuit board replacement for 234.00 and topside for another 250.00, i want to stay on the low side of the fix.. that being said what is a valued spa replacement pack 115v for now that can be converted later to 240v? so if i need to sale it at least the " used car" has " new tires" (lol). this tub is only to be used for graduating up to a nicer more priceier model ( hot springs maybe) and if i can keep the fix on the low end then i can justify (to my wife at least) the cost of a deluxe model. we already have a pool and lots of friends. just need another toy...thanks again for understanding
ps. spa packs ive looked at are the flexlite universal, united cb-t7, and balboa and the rest...whats your opinion of these type complete units , sans pump motor.. thnks again
