Re: Softub Temperature Setting
In Response To: Re: Softub Temperature Setting ()

Hi Fellas, interesting long thread between you two. I've been reading to learn more about my softub. It's an older version, Teal color, four jet, Hydromate II. It has one control knob for temp adjust, a jets button, & a reset button, that's it. When we first got it second hand, it did fine in all respects. Drained it for the Summer, refilled it in late Fall. At that point, it never would heat up as much as it did originally. The temp won't hit 100, usually a bit less. Would like it to do 102 or so, if possible. The knob, & buttons are cast in a block of non-tamper plastic. Is there an external temp adjustment in the aluminum power junction box atop the motor? That box is sealed, & I found this forum trying to learn more before opening it up. I appreciate all you fellas have discussed, & contributed, its been a help. My connection tubes are longer than stock, I mounted the pump unit thru a wall to help w/noise. Neither tube had any cover or insulation on them. Should I cover the bottom one, & go back to the shorter tubes too? I'm asking this after reading the "little trick" in the text. Thanks, Tom North Idaho, USA

: My understanding from the Softub tech support folks is that this feature

: did not exist in the firmware for boards installed in P25 packs. It
: was introduced at some point during the production run of P26 packs,
: although I am not clear at what point it was physically introduced.
: Furthermore, Softub did not actually document the feature in the P26
: owners manuals, even though tubs were capable of utilizing it.

: There are potential problems with the feature though. I do not recommend
: using it if the tub will be subject to hard freezing temperatures.
: Softub tech support has informed me that there is no temperature
: override of the timer in order to protect the tub.
