: Hello John (n1oty),
: I'm having similar issues. I understand electricity and circuit boards.
: I have a HTR ON and LIM OK light on my iq2020 for a 2006 Sovereign
: running 240. My circ pump is running fine, resetting the power doesnt
: get the heater to turn on. After reset, 30 seconds later the iq2020
: clicks and th GTR ON led turns on as expected. However, the no fault
: PDR does not get hotter than the water running through it (which is
: dropping quick here in mihcigan).
: The hi lim thermistors must be ok right? Because the temp is below 80
: degrees and the LIM ok led is on? So that leaves me with the heater
: or its internal pressure switch right? The volatge to the heater hot
: wires are 120 each so that seems good.
: Is there a way to tets the internal pressure switch of that no fault
: heater? This is the newer no fault heater without a reset button, it
: resets on power down (PDR). What do you think? Could you email me or
: may I call you?

Hello again John (n1oty),
Just some more info on what I've looked at. The "pressure switch" (gray wire and little white connector on the iq2020) when removed will cause the HTR ON led to go out. I then tested the relay board for juice to the heater and nothing, as expected. I kept the multimeter wires on the heater wiring and put the pressure switch wire back on. The HTR ON led turned on as expected and then 240v started flowing to the heater, also as expected.
So is this a bad heater or maybe a bad pressure swicth itself that wont do whatever it needs to switch when triggered? IF a bad heater, is draining the tub an only option or are those 1 inch wide looking feeds to the heater easy to block or crimp or something?
Please email me if you would. eholmstr@gmail.com
