Malcolm, you don't need to add anything to build up your Bromine bank .the salt you added is the Bromine bank. if you have increased your circulation time [ which increases genesis rate] and have dialed it up to 10 and are not experiencing any Bromine increase and your electrode doesn't have a lot of calcification on it,you may have a hairline crack in one electrode.my first electrode didn't put out a lot of Bromine either .i was always shocking it with MPS to bring up the levels.at #10 you should have a fair amount of bubbles being produced.i replaced my electrode 1.5 years later and couldn't believe the difference in Bromine production.I have no problems making Bromine and i very seldom shock it unless its going to get a lot of use then i shock it to build up a higher level before its used.keeping a level of 2 is perfect for this system. I'm not sure about this spa perfect balance.if it locks in the balance some how I would be a little Leary on using it.other then dealing with metals and excess hardness.the less stuff you put in the better.IMOP.also the electrodes have a manufacture warranty of 5 years
