Not likely. I'm suspicious of this half priced heater that you bought. Was this new heater actually new in the box or an open box "special". In this business, you do tend to get what you pay for. If new, are you sure it was the correct heater for your tub. HS has many different heaters and some look alike, but they are not necessarily interchangeable. Did the tech that you hired seem knowledgeable? Was the heater relay board tested? What LED's are lit on the main PC board?
